One man band software full version free download. Hi - just bought the X-Touch mini controller (by Behringer) which so far seems great (more solid that the Korg Nano and really cheap). Only bad thing is that they made an editor only for PC, not for MAC and I would like to access (by midi, by sysex whatever) the possibility to change the Buttons (switches) from Momentary to Toggle (and vice-versa).

X-Touch One is out--how to use with Mixbus? |
Post: #1 |
X-Touch One is out--how to use with Mixbus? i just purchased a Behringer X Touch One (Behringer's new product that is similar to Faderport). QUESTION: How should I configure it for use with Mixbus or Mixbus32? I know it is Mackie Protocol, but in the Device Type drop down, there is not (yet) a device type for the X Touch One. So, should I use the the Device type for the regular X Touch? Will this work with only the One fader? Is there a way to adjust the maping? Thanks for any help Cecelius2 |

Found this Youtube item: 'The New Presonus Faderport vs the Behringer X Touch One by Creative Space studios' He posted the above (and a follow-up) about using both devices with his Mixbus installation. He said it was easy using X-Touch One on Mixbus, but no details (if I recall). Seemed pleased with the X-Touch One. Looks like most of the firmware news and gossip about the X-Touch One is on the plain X-Touch forum. Look for the six-page (so far) thread near the top. |

RE: X-Touch One is out--how to use with Mixbus? Thanks Jabney! This is very helpful. I had seen the first part of the youtube before he had posted the second part; and was planning on going back to it once he had posted part two, but forgot to go there. Your post here was a helpful reminder to check back to that youtube post. His youtube is informative. You guys are great here! C2 |

RE: X-Touch One is out--how to use with Mixbus? Just installed X-Touch One with Mixbus 32C 5 and Mixbus 5. Here's what you can do in 'Control Surfaces': 'Enable' and then open 'Mackie' .and under the 'Device Setup' tab open: .'Device Type:' and choose 'Behringer X-Touch' then connect and power the X-Touch One. Now open 'Surface sends via:' You probably should see 'X-Touch One' so choose it. Open 'Surface receives via:' Again, you should see 'X-Touch One' so choose it. (You might have to close and re-open Mixbus or Mixbus 32C before the lights and the clock operate.) You should see under 'Control Protocol Settings'/'Device Setup': 'Device Type: Behringer X-Touch' 'Surface sends via: X-Touch One' 'Surface receives via: X-Touch One' While adding 'Behringer X-Touch One' under 'Device Type:' should seem simple, changing the X-Touch One firmware itself is not so simple. Basically, the single-fader design is very cool, but Mackie doesn't make its own single-fader design (yet) - and Behringer likes to be compatible with the various Mackie Control protocols. As for Harrison Mixbus hosting X-Touch One? Probably watching Behringer's X-Touch One firmware until things settle down - that's what I'd do. |

RE: X-Touch One is out--how to use with Mixbus? Thanks again! I am very pleased so far with the X-Touch One. Can't wait for the promised new firmware. But at least it is usable. Again, you are very helpful! |

RE: X-Touch One is out--how to use with Mixbus? It looks quite nice, with all those buttons that can be used to do something and the templates than can be put on top for various DAWs. current: UneducatedI already have a Faderport 1 which works out of the box. It would be nice to have the Faderport and the X-Touch connected at the same time could be used to control to different tracks. It currently does not seem possible. I believe each device transmits its identity over the wire so it should be possible. In any case, it's a matter of being able to do something with all those buttons. Unfortunately. Mixbus32C v5 has removed the full functionality of the Faderport User key so it's not looking good. I mean, all those buttons are nice-looking, but will they do anything useful in Mixbus or just stand there as cosmetic, providing some kind of a vibe just by their presence ? Or will they be assigned a very limited choice of functions with no way to re-assign them to creatively add to the mixing work flow ? Is it possible to use the X-Touch One fader or large scrub button to program ALL automation from any conceivable device ? For instance, can I use the fader/scrubber to automate the MDelayMB dry/wet parameter for band # 2 ? What the person in the video says by 'it's working' does not hold that much for me. For instance the video mentions that it's possible to go into Mixbus and program the X-Touch One as you'd like. I certainly do not see any X-Touch One entry in 'Control Surfaces' in Mixbus32C 5.0.182. How does that claim works ? Cheers. Votre majesté The Otterworld |

Should have added more lines [ ] in the 2:48 post: [Someday there may be an entry under 'Device Setup' saying, X-Touch One. Right now there is not '.One.' However, the plain (big) X-Touch entry works.] 'You should see under 'Control Protocol Settings'/'Device Setup': 'Device Type: Behringer X-Touch' 'Surface sends via: X-Touch One' 'Surface receives via: X-Touch One' [Note the missing 'One' in line 2 of the above paragraph.] . I'm trying to learn X-Touch One by reading other DAW's documentation and by reading the Behringer X-Touch forum. There is no X-Touch One forum as of yet. And frankly, that may be a good thing - right now. Here is what I mean: like you, I have a Faderport 1. Even before your comment, 'Mixbus32C v5 has removed the full functionality of the Faderport User key so it's not looking good,' I stopped using the Faderport because one of my favorite features was taken away. At one point, you could A/B switch Faderport between the Editor and the Mixer. That was taken out, and it was replaced with a slightly more complicated method. The good news now for X-Touch One + Mixbus is that 'Function F1 and F2' control those items (I forget which is 'Mixer' and which is 'Editor' but it's so easy, it doesn't matter much) as a default. What I hope to find is a way to program the SCRUB button to do something else. Like a button to go to the next Marker, or to act as a Shift control. There are lots of actions and not that many buttons. So where else could I map the Shift control? The point is, between the Device Settings screen and the Script screen it looks like you could almost program your coffee maker and your toaster to bring you breakfast - if the skills are there. Well maybe not breakfast, but there does seem to be a lot of possible actions. |

RE: X-Touch One is out--how to use with Mixbus? I see, it's all under Mackie. I browsed a few key options available for the X-Touch and indeed, it seems that for every key the entirety of Mixbus functions is available. Which is great. current: UneducatedThe question is, why isn't it so for the Faderport 1 ??? I even bought a footswitch when I got the Faderport 1 in thinking that it could be put to good use, but the footswitch choices are ridiculously limited. I do not like throwing away hardware that works, but the availability of so many Mixbus functions for every key of teh X-Touch makes it very tempting. but there's one thing that prevents from going forward, one thing that I find is of uttermost importance: Is it possible to prgram any automation using the fader ? Any. For instance, I want to automate MDelayMB dry/wet mix for the 2nd band which I would do using the onscreen curtsor and the mouse: can it be done with the X-Touch fader ? Or any other plugin. Like the CSR Hall Reverb time span. Or the Voxengo Voxformer compression ratio ? Or u-he Presswerk compressor threshold ? Any plugin that can otherwise use the onscreen cursor - is it possible to substitute the X-Touch fader ? Having such a nice fader (or scrub button) and not being able to use it to creatively and finely to write automation is almost a crime Votre majesté The Otterworld |

I browsed a few key options available for the X-Touch and indeed, it seems that for every key the entirety of Mixbus functions is available. Which is great. There are 5 members of the Behringer X-Touch 'family.' First, X-Touch Compact and X-Touch Mini boast about MIDI ability. And those two work with 'X-Touch Editor v1.21.' That means you can change to MC (Mackie Control) or to MIDI by holding a button while powering on. Neither of them have Scribble displays nor vertical LED 'ladder' displays. Next, X-Touch works with MC or HUI; and X-Touch Extender work with MC, HUI, and MIDI. Note those don't work with the 'X-Touch Editor v1.21' nor do they show any way to map MIDI. They do have Scribble displays and vertical LED 'ladder' displays. While the big X-Touch doesn't have open MIDI, the fixed Mixbus options for X-Touch are very well mapped - in my opinion. It is worth at least the $450 (new) - again, in my opinion. Finally, X-Touch One works with several types of MC, HUI and MIDI (and CC) - but no mention of the 'One' in 'X-Touch Editor v1.21.' And it does have a single Scribble display and a single vertical LED 'ladder' display. Faders: 'X-Touch Editor v1.21' has the published values of the single fader of the X-Touch Mini and the multiple faders of the X-Touch Compact. As for my ventures in advanced fader-land, here's my story: The venue I help out at had a console for controlling some of the stage LED fixtures. It used fader 1 to go through various changes. The word I'd use about controlling with fader 1 is, 'Twitchy.' The fader itself was not bad, still the sheer number of changes along the path of the fader made running it difficult. Our lights person knew fader 1 from the bottom to the top. So the lights looked usually good. But the rest of us tried to stay away from fader 1. There's nothing quite like thinking you are going from a wash of somber blue to a delicate wash of turquoise - but instead you treat the audience to a white - and bright - 160 Hz strobe :-) One fader controlling different items along a path can be hard to control if you have had too much coffee. . All 5 of the X-Touch family are built on a base of MIDI. So if you have super-human strong MIDI programming chops and some way to get the values you need inside it, you should be able to do lots of things. For the rest of us, one might start with X-Touch Mini if one doesn't need the motorization ($50), or one might get a used X-Touch if one doesn't need the MIDI controlling feature (several at $350 without a warranty on eBay). The X-Touch does almost everything other than programming MIDI. Of course if one has enough patience and good luck, then the X-Touch One could be just the right device. In the meantime, X-Touch One is already working enough to warrant its $150 (new) price - in my opinion. Your mileage may vary though. best, john |
